Toyota Motor has announced impressive 2024 U.S. sales, with over 1 million electrified vehicles sold. This marks a 53% increase in electrified vehicle sales, accounting for 43% of the company’s total sales.
In total, TMNA sold 2,332,623 vehicles in the U.S. in 2024. That’s a 3.7% increase compared to 2023. The real highlight? Electrified vehicles led the charge, with Toyota’s electrified lineup seeing a major surge.
Electrified Vehicles Lead the Way
Toyota’s electrified vehicle sales hit an all-time high of 1,006,461 units, up 53.1% from 2023. The company now offers 30 electrified vehicle options—the most by any automaker in the U.S. This broad offering is key to Toyota’s strong position in the market.
The Toyota RAV4 continued to dominate as the best-selling SUV in America. The RAV4 Hybrid saw a 29.3% increase in sales. Even the bZ4X electric vehicle saw an impressive 99.1% boost in sales, reflecting a growing consumer shift to fully electric options.
Lexus Sets a Record Year
Lexus, Toyota’s luxury brand, also had a record-breaking year. The brand achieved its highest-ever full-year sales in 2024. Electrified Lexus vehicles surged by 34.4%, making up 35.6% of total sales.
The Lexus RX remained the top-selling mid-luxury SUV in the U.S. for the 26th straight year. The RX Hybrid and RX Plug-in Hybrid experienced significant growth. The RX Plug-in Hybrid increased by a staggering 547.6%.
Looking Ahead to 2025
Toyota is on track to be the top-selling passenger vehicle brand in the U.S. for the 13th consecutive year. The company is set for an exciting 2025, with 24 new and refreshed vehicles planned for launch. In addition, Toyota’s new $13.9 billion battery plant in North Carolina will begin production, further fueling electrification efforts.
